About the Role:
Robert David Malove PA is looking for a driven and passionate Criminal Associate Attorney to join our team in Gainesville, FL. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced legal professionals, advocate for clients in high-stakes criminal matters, and build a meaningful career in criminal defense law.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in criminal defense matters across state and/or federal courts
- Conduct legal research, draft motions, briefs, and other court documents
- Manage a caseload from intake through resolution, including trials and hearings
- Communicate regularly with clients, keeping them informed on case status and strategy
- Negotiate with prosecutors on plea agreements and case dispositions
- Appear in court for arraignments, hearings, depositions, and trials
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active Florida Bar license in good standing
- Mimimum 5 years of Prior experience in criminal law, criminal defense, or related litigation preferred
- Strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills

In 1979, Attorney Robert David Malove graduated from the American University School of Justice in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor of Science degree in the Administration of Justice. Consistent with staying on the cutting edge of developments in criminal defense - one of Robert’s signature trademarks—he earned a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science from The George Washington University in 1981, where a number of courses were instructed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center’s Institute of Forensic Pathology. He then graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1983. Robert Malove is board certified as an expert in criminal law by The Florida Bar.
